When everything else seemed to slow down, we didn’t want to take our foot off the pedal; while some appreciated extensions have been granted to the transport industry, we made a decision to keep driving forward. To face the challenges of new ways of working and to be the first company in Ireland to be virtually audited by the Freight Transport Association of Ireland (FTA), and we’re delighted to announce that we have maintained our FTA Gold Standard accreditation.
So what exactly does an FTA audit look at and how do you conduct a virtual audit? Some of the key areas assessed by an FTA audit are Driver Fatigue Management, Roadworthiness, Safe and Legal Loads, Sustainable Operations, Professional Driver Competence, and Health & Safety. A huge thanks to our Transport Manger Denise Ryan who led the audit on behalf of our transport team, submitting over 100 pieces of digital evidence for review, and partaking in follow-up online interviews. On the 9th June we were delighted to be awarded the FTA Gold Standard, meeting the highest standards of compliance.
What does the Gold Standard mean to our customers? FTA Ireland’s mission is to help develop safer, more efficient and sustainable supply chains and transport operations. The Gold Standard is independent and unbiased recognition of Polar Ice’s commitment to the highest compliance and safety standards. It’s assurance for our customers, knowing that we strive for continuous improvement each day and operate with the utmost professionalism. Needless to say, we’re extremely proud of our team for upholding such levels of excellence in these unprecedented times.
